Well, i wanna make different kinds of bread at home, from scratch. But all the recipes with good reviews are bread machine recipes. I don’t have a bread machine, so give me a recipe with the full instructions please. Oh, by the way, i recently bought some yeast from the local bakery, and the yeast they gave me is like a butter block. With the yeast-y color and smell ofcourse. But what kind of yeast is this? They said they gave me as much needed for kneading 30 kgs of wheat.
I don’t have a bread machine, and am used to making my own bread from scratch. I found a yummy recipe online and would like to use the same ingredients– can I use the same method I usually do, without the machine, and bake it in an oven?
When I use a premade mix from the store it is fine. When I use a recipe from scratch, my bread always turns out heavy. It’s like a door stop! I follow the directions word for word. This happens when I use any recipe, including the ones they send with the bread maker.
Does anyone know a common reason for this? Thanks!

Would like some sandwich type bread recipes, and also some sweet bread (snack, desert type) recipes to use in my Bread Machine.
Quick breads are prefered, but any suggestions are welcome.
