I make bread in this automatic bread maker I borrowed from my mom. It’s really easy, you just pour all the ingredients in and it does the rest.

Anway, I use the honey whole wheat recipe and modify it a bit. Here’s what the recipe calls for:
-10 oz water
-1.5 tsp salt
-1.5 Tb butter
-1/3 cup honey
-3 tsp vital wheat gluten
-3 cups whole wheat flour
-1.5 tsp active dry yeast

Here’s what I’ve added to it:
-1/3 cup of rolled 5 grain whole wheats
-1/4 cup sesame seeds

Can you think of any other healthy ingredients I can add to my bread, that wouldn’t ruin the taste? I really can’t think of anything else besides some good oils like sesame seed oil or virgin olive oil, but I don’t know if that would effect the bread rising and baking correctly.

I lost my bread machine recipe book and am dying to make some homemade bread.
Do any of you know where I can buy a bread machine cook book or do you have any recipes you can give me?

Oster 5838 ExpressBake Breadmaker

Oster 5838 ExpressBake Breadmaker

Just a quick video from my G1 phone, no high quality here! I’m trying out the Oster 5838 bread machine my mom found for me at a yard sale. She owns one and really likes it. I made a basic 100% whole wheat recipe from Oster’s website. The only thing I changed was adding 4 tsp wheat gluten. 100% Whole Wheat Bread Ingredients – 1-5/8 cups water – 2 tsp salt – 4 2/3 cups whole wheat flour – 4 tsp wheat gluten (not in original recipe) – 1/3 cup packed brown sugar – 3 tsp active dry yeast Directions – Measure and add liquid ingredients to the bread pan. – Measure and add dry ingredients (except yeast) to the bread pan. . – Use your finger to form a well (hole) in the flour where you will pour the yeast. Yeast must NEVER come into contact with a liquid when you are adding ingredients. Measure the yeast and carefully pour it into the well. – Snap the baking pan into the breadmaker and close the lid. – Press “Select” button to choose the Whole Wheat setting. – Press the “Crust Color” button to choose light, medium or dark crust. – Press the “Start/Stop” button.

It’s available at Amazon.com both new and used.

I want to make some bread. I would like to use my machine. Its a Webilt if that matters. I just need to know if the yeast measurement needs to be adjusted or if you do anything different compared to an oven?

I lost the recipe book to my panasonic automatic bread maker (SD-YD200) and I need the recipe to make white bread. Any recipes for this machine out there?

Does anyone have some good bread machine recipes or can someone point me to a good website?
thanks

I recently bought a breadmaker…but I can’t find any special bread flour in my supermarket. Someone mentioned that it depends what the percentage of protien is in your bread. Mine has about 11.2% (I worked it out before..), will that do?

Happy New Year everyone.
Question: When making bread in your bread maker, is there a special kind of yeast to use? I would like to make this to go with tomorrow’s dinner.

But I have heard some people says fast acting yeast. What do you think would be best?
Thanks in advance

I’ve got a few already but they all taste slightly cakey.
I will have to give the best written recipe the best answer points if there are a lot of replies. If not I’ll try to bake them and points will go to the best tasting one.

Oh and by the way, my machine only handles 1lb – 1.5lb loaves

Thanks for Looking
