Just a quick video from my G1 phone, no high quality here! I’m trying out the Oster 5838 bread machine my mom found for me at a yard sale. She owns one and really likes it. I made a basic 100% whole wheat recipe from Oster’s website. The only thing I changed was adding 4 tsp wheat gluten. 100% Whole Wheat Bread Ingredients – 1-5/8 cups water – 2 tsp salt – 4 2/3 cups whole wheat flour – 4 tsp wheat gluten (not in original recipe) – 1/3 cup packed brown sugar – 3 tsp active dry yeast Directions – Measure and add liquid ingredients to the bread pan. – Measure and add dry ingredients (except yeast) to the bread pan. . – Use your finger to form a well (hole) in the flour where you will pour the yeast. Yeast must NEVER come into contact with a liquid when you are adding ingredients. Measure the yeast and carefully pour it into the well. – Snap the baking pan into the breadmaker and close the lid. – Press “Select” button to choose the Whole Wheat setting. – Press the “Crust Color” button to choose light, medium or dark crust. – Press the “Start/Stop” button.

BAKED TOMATOES

INGREDIENTS: For 3 people, you need 4 or 5 tomatoes, pepper and salt to taste, a knob of  butter and some bread crumbs (from a packet is fine, if you don’t have any fresh).

Method: Remove any stalks from the tomatoes and cut them into thick slices. Place tomato  slices in a deep baking-dish and season to taste with pepper and salt and most of the  butter. Use the breadcrumbs to cover the tomatoes and dot the rest of the butter on top, or else you can gently melt it and then drizzle the remaining butter over the breadcrumbs. Bake in a moderate oven for 20 – 30 minutes. Serve very  hot. Baked tomatoes makes an unusual change as a vegetable with any meal and is very easy to prepare and very tasty and nutritious. It will complement any meal, especially meat or fish.
