I only get paid once a month. It’s getting to the end of the pay period and we’re broke almost out of sugar but I really don’t want to go without bread until I get paid. Our recipe is a little weird, more like a regular bread recipe than a bread machine recipe. We put the sugar, water, and yeast in the pan and let it foam for about 10 minutes before adding the rest of the ingredients and starting the bread machine. My question is can I substitute powdered sugar or honey for the sugar and still have it work? If so, what kind of adjustment do I need to make to the measurements?

I have a sourdough bread machine recipe to try. It calls for sourdough starter which I have a batch started. Now it calls for 2 cups bread flour. Would you see any reason why I couldn’t use wheat bread flour as a substitute to make it a bit healthy? Also would it effect the taste any and if so how?

I recently bought a great bread recipe book. Half of the recipes are for bread machines. I have been making bread for several years and know the proper techniques. I tried converting a bread machine recipe by using the same quantities of dry and liquid ingredients, and just using the proper hand made techniques. However, the dough came out too dry and unworkable. Do the proportions of the ingredients need to be altered? It just doesn’t make any sense. Any tips would be greatly appreciated

what exactly does the bread machine do differently? I have never used a bread machine before. i did cook bread in the oven once using a bread machine recipe and it came out fine. Is it just easier / more convenient?

I’m OK with eggs (I’m not vegan, but my daughter has a milk allergy so I often use vegan recipes)
I need a bread machine recipe for whole wheat bread. i have a recipe for light wheat, but I want to use as little white flour as possible.

Thanks!

Does any one have (please read carefully!) a bread machine recipe that has many grains, but DOES NOT ask for the "7 grain cereal" but rather lists the ingedients for the 7 grain cereal? I want to "experiment, but need a base. I would also like to keep it organic, so perhaps something like applesauce could replace sugars/fats? Ideas, anyone?
Please post the recipe here. I have researched all the recipe links and haven’t found what I wanted.

Found that my bread machine recipe doesn’t work well in the high altitude so i need a recipe for a good whole wheat bread

I have the bread machine mentioned above. I lost the booklet and I loved the recipe for cinamon raisin bread. No other bread machine recipe seems to work. Does anyone else have this booklet? Can anyone tell me where I can get another one? Thanks for your help!!

I’m looking for a bread machine recipe for a 3lb loaf using wholewheat flour. I don’t want a whole grain bread, just wholewheat. I have tried using a recipe for white bread and just using wholewheat flour but it turns out to dense.

I have a bread machine recipe that I would like to make, but I do not have a bread machine. The bread machine is only used to mix the ingredients, so I am wondering when I should mix the ingredients in. The ingredients consist of chives , dill and a variety of other spices.

Do I mix this into the yeast before I mix it with the water to activate it? or do I mix it in with the flour before I add it to the yeast? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
