Does my breadmaker work – It sits there doing nothing on the whole wheat setting for 5 minutes?
When I tried the basic bread setting it started kneading straight away. Is it supposed to sit there doing nothing for a while on the whole wheat setting or is something wrong with it?

It’s programmed, let it finish it’s cycle & judge the results first.
It should work the same way. I have made whole wheat bread on the regular setting before but, my whole wheat setting got it darker than I liked it. You may just try the regular setting.
